Raben Ukraine opens a New Customs Cargo Complex in Kyiv

Yesterday Raben Ukraine officially opened a new Customs Cargo Complex in its own logistics terminal in Kyiv.

Established to meet the increased demands of importers in customs clearance services, the new Customs Cargo Complex (CCC) is able to simultaneously process 120 trucks and is equipped in accordance with the latest requirements of customs legislation.

The newly opened facility has a system of electronic cargo registration and vehicle surveillance which covers the entire area of the Complex. It is also equipped with control-access system consisting of barriers, means of automatic reading of vehicle registration numbers, and electronic scales, which automatically forward the information about the registration number and total weight of the vehicle to the electronic records.

“CCC Raben Ukraine will provide its Customers with a full range of custom services, including services required by regulatory authorities (Sanitary, Ecology etc.) on the "one-stop-shop" principle. Moreover, it is just one of few CCCs in Ukraine, which also have a modern commercial warehouse and cross dock located under one roof. This allows importers to conduct more complex business operations, receive comprehensive logistics services as well as optimize their costs. We forecast that such complexes will not only accelerate, but also increase of freight turnover both in import and domestic distribution" – comments Boris Khruslov, Director of Raben Ukraine.

“The implementation of a new Customs Code since June 1, 2012, is intended to establish the transparency and efficiency of customs procedures. Opening of cargo customs complexes, which fully comply with the new legal requirements, is one of the key conditions to meet these expectations of the modern market. The application of customs clearance conditions according to European standards, which has been done in CCC Raben Ukraine, is a joint initiative of the private sector and the state, whose aim is the increase of trade and transit attractiveness of Ukraine, which in turn will bring the growth of country’s income from the foreign trade” – says Dmytro Polischuk, Head of Kyiv Regional Customs Service.

One of the solutions used in CCC Raben Ukraine is the "Information Terminal". It allows for excluding personal contact between customs brokers and representatives of Ukrainian Customs Service, which eliminates the influence of the "human factor" on the process and outcome of customs clearance and makes the process more transparent and clear for the Customs Service and traders alike.

In addition, an important advantage of CCC Raben Ukraine is its favourable location – close to international highway which eliminates the need of transit through Kyiv thus contributing to the improvement of ecological conditions of the capital.

"As a European company, we consider the investment in such projects our strategic priority. We aim to harmonize the logistics processes in Ukraine with European standards to enhance the country’s business climate” – says Ewald Raben, CEO of Raben Group.

“We are interested in any changes which lead to better conditions for business, as it usually leads to the development cross-border logistics services and brings benefits for our Customers. This complies with the mission of Raben Group which is building our Customer’s competitive advantage by providing them with reliable solutions and friendly service" – adds Boris Khruslov, Director of Raben Ukraine.
