RCA tightens safety controls

Rail Cargo Austria checks CSC signs at its unaccompanied combined transport terminals

In a letter to its customers Rail Cargo Austria, subsidiary of the Austrian railway enterprise ÖBB, announces controls of the CSC signs (Container Safety Convention) at its terminals. Only cargo units with valid CSC signs or ACEP (Approved Continuous

Examination Programme) can be accepted for rail transport. The control will be carried out in the course of the receiving control by means of a form of TSA (Terminal Service Austria).

Cargo units for which a CSC sign is mandatory, but is missing, illegible or its validity has expired will not be accepted for transport, with the exception of a label marking the participation in the ACEP. In the sense of a quick process at the terminals for unaccompanied combined transport, RCA asks kindly to inform drivers and to cooperate regarding legibility and accessibility of the signs or labels.
