Recently awarded air cargo contracts

Jettainer to manage Etihad Airway’s ULD fleet; WFS wins two contracts in Miami and is appointed as official handler for the 49th International Paris Air Show; Swissport is awarded four handling licences at Brussels Airport. Etihad Airways has appointed Jettainer to supply, manage and maintain the airline’s global ULD fleet for a period of five years. Etihad has received a complete fleet of brand new ULDs, including modern and environmentally friendly lightweight containers. Dhabi. Jettainer currently manages more than 90,000 ULD units at more than 500 locations worldwide. With Etihad, Jettainer continues its expansion towards the Middle East and Asia.

TAP Portugal and US Airways have awarded new cargo handling contracts to Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in Miami. For TAP, WFS provides cargo warehousing and customer service for the airline’s five Airbus A330 flights a week. TAP is expected to carry around 2,700 tonnes of cargo per year on the new route. TAP already works with WFS in New York Newark and Boston in North America, as well as Brussels, Paris CDG, Orly, Nice, Madrid and Barcelona. US Airways has appointed WFS to handle cargo warehousing, customer service and international mail linehauls in Miami. US Airways serves the airport with 65 flights a week with an annual cargo uplift of 1,800 tonnes. WFS already handles cargo for US Airways at twelve other airports in North America.
WFS has also been appointed as the official handler for the 49th International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. WFS will provide ramp handling for all the aircraft manufacturers and exhibitors at the week-long event, which begins on June 20th. Services include marshalling, pushback, aircraft parking and servicing, cabin and exterior cleaning, technical assistance, ground power, aircraft safety and controlling the flow of aircraft. WFS will also operate the heliport and passenger facility at Le Bourget. WFS has worked closely as a partner of the Paris Air Show since 2001.
The Brussels Airport Company has awarded Swissport four handling licences at Brussels Airport. Swissport has been present at Brussels Airport since 1990. The company will now begin a mobilisation phase to ensure a smooth take-over of activities in November 2011. Swissport provides ground services for around 100 million passengers and 3.2 million tonnes of cargo a year on behalf of approximately 650 client-companies in the aviation sector, operating at 186 stations in 36 countries around the world.
