Norbert Dentressangle has been awarded a new contract to manage a second CHEP service centre at Aveley, near Thurrock in Essex, UK, starting in April.

The 7.5 acre Aveley site serves CHEP customers, both in the South East of England and in mainland Europe.

Under the new contract, Norbert Dentressangle will be responsible for the inspection, repair, painting and despatch of around six million pallets per year.

The relationship between the two companies began in 2005, when Norbert Dentressangle was appointed to manage a CHEP service centre in Dunstable. In 2009, Norbert Dentressangle invested more than £4 million in the development of a new purpose-built, environmentally friendly CHEP service centre at Hoddesdon, where more than 90% of the waste generated by the operation is recycled.

As at Hoddeson, Norbert Dentressangle will invest in technology and equipment to deliver environmental and operational benefits at Aveley.

CEVA Logistics and Mercedes-Benz have signed a three-year agreement for the distribution of spare parts for Mercedes-Benz and smart vehicles in Italia.

CEVA will be responsible for the loading of equipment at the Mercedes-Benz warehouse in Capena, near Rome, as well as the inland transportation of spare parts with a guarantee of delivery by 13h00 (urgent/priority delivery) throughout Italy.

Each year, CEVA will move approximately 200,000 packages, and the company’s Track & Trace system gives Mercedez-Benz real-time visibility of all consignments

Trade Tech has signed a multi-year contract with IDS Logistics to provide a fully integrated suite of applications designed to completely manage supply chain (including rate management, transportation operations, PO management and visibility), accounting and all cargo security requirements.

The applications encompass Trade Tech’s Trade Manager (including all connections with various Customs Systems: AMS, ACI, ISF, Mexico AMS and future EU ENS), Trade Rates, Trade Chain (PO management), Trade Cash and a connection to Smart Border as an ABI provider.
