Metso Minerals (Tianjin) has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract for the planning, implementation and management of a new distribution centre in Shanghai.

Kuehne + Nagel has provided international forwarding services for the Finnish mining and construction expert since 2006, and took over the management of Metso Minerals‘ Tianjin spare parts distribution centre in 2008.

Metso has now opened an additional distribution centre in Shanghai. Kuehne + Nagel has established a dedicated 7,000 m² facility with a monthly inbound handling capacity of more than 1,600 tons for Metso in Shanghai’s Baoshan district.

Rent-to-own retail chain BrightHouse has again selected DHL Supply Chain to exclusively handle storage and distribution of its branded household goods.

BrightHouse will benefit from 90,000 sq.ft of warehousing space at DHL’s Trafford Park site and a dedicated receive, store, pick, load and dispatch program.

The facility’s space has now enabled the integration of BrightHouse’s new purpose built National Service Centre, which repairs and refurbishes white goods and technology products.

Under the terms of the agreement, DHL’s dedicated consumer fleet will transport consumer electronics, domestic appliances, furniture and technology products to the retailer’s network of eight Customer Service Centres throughout the UK.

Hayter has appointed Norbert Dentressangle to distribute its range of mechanical lawn care products to retailers across the UK.

Norbert Dentressangle makes daily pallet collections from Hayter’s manufacturing facility at Spellbrook, near Bishop’s Stortford in Hertfordshire. Loads are consolidated for next-day delivery to Hayter’s retail stockists across the country.

The use of Norbert Dentressangle’s national shared-user pallet network will help Hayter to improve its service whilst reducing its overall distribution costs.

The operation also has the flexibility to accommodate increased volumes prior to and during the peak trading spring and summer months.

Raben Ukraine has been awarded a three-year contract with Electrolux to provide the full range of warehousing services in its 45,000 m² distribution centre in Brovary in the Kyiv region.

Raben Ukraine will provide warehouse space for several Electrolux suppliers, and will organise and consolidate deliveries to outlets located throughout Ukraine.

Argos has agreed on a three-year extension for TDG to continue running Argos‘ distribution centre at Mossend in Scotland.

TDG will also cross-dock Homebase kitchens and bathrooms and Argos Direct Home Delivery products at Mossend.

TDG has operated the distribution for Argos since 2004.
