RCA Intermodal achieved substantial improvement in results in the 2011 business year; Reinforcement of traffic with Romania and Italy in 2012
The rehabilitation of intermodal activities of Rail Cargo Austria starts yielding fruit. Thanks to the measures introduced last year such as the implementation of NINA in April, the price adjustments for sidings or bundling to increase efficiency the result of RCA Intermodal has improved by 15.6 million euros compared with 2010. This was announced by Executive Director Erik Excited in a presentation the “customer orientation in combined transport” event of the Austrian Transportation Research Society (OVG).
RCA Intermodal dedicates the year 2012 to the motto "our boundless market". This is emphasised with the new intermodal terminal in Ploiesti (Romania), which RCA fills with life as an operator on the one hand, and on the other hand with a direct connection offering three weekly rotations on the Wels-Curtici-Ploiesti corridor. The subsidiary Rail Cargo Italia accelerates the expansion of traffic with Italy and increases cooperation with the port of Trieste.
