Rhenus establishes dangerous goods warehouse in Trebatice (Slovakia)

Rhenus branch in Slovakia passes SQAS auditing and implements additional building with 9,000 pallet slots capacity

A new building is added to the facility of Rhenus Logistics s.r.o. at the site in Trebatice in western Slovakia. The existing terminal has 12,000 m² covered space and 15,000 pallet slots. It is now enlarged in the form of a 6,000 m² dangerous goods warehouse with 9,000 pallet slots. The new building has integrated Ceiling sprinklers and in-rack sprinklers and is hence designed for goods of water hazard class 2. About 2,000 m² in the new hall allow for storage of all kinds of cargo – except for radio active and explosive substances. Inspection of the facility, which complies with the latest EU regulations for dangerous goods storage, is scheduled for July 2011.

On 15 April external appraisers confirmed that the branch in Trebatice meets the standard the Verband der Europäischen Chemischen Industrie (CEFIC) has stipulated in the Safety and Quality Assessment System (SQAS). “The passed SQAS audit expresses our continuous efforts to make our logistics solutions secure and environmentally friendly", says managing director Martin Schmitt. SQAS audits evaluate services for throughput, storage and transport of chemicals.

Rhenus Logistics, s. r. o. was formed in 2006 in the course of the acquisition of the Röhrer DSD company by the Rhenus group. Currently 140 employees are working for the enterprise in Trebatice. Moreover they have cross docking stations in Bratislava, Zvolen and Preðov. The service portfolio ranges from international truck transportations, warehousing logistics as well as pre- and oncarriage on a national level.
