Rhenus Forest Logistics bundles timber services

From the beginning of October the wood services by Rhenus will be reorganised. The two units previously operating independently in the market, Rhenus Fehring in Bielefeld, and the Brenner Group in Plaidt, will be joined under the umbrella of the newly founded Rhenus Forest Logistics.

“Merging Rhenus Fehring and the Brenner Group, we would like to meet the requirements of our customers even better,” said Olaf Mohrmann, a member of the management board of Rhenus Forest Logistics. The operational sites including truck disposition in Bielefeld and in Plaidt will be maintained. Further offices are run in Switzerland and Luxembourg.

Rhenus Forest Logistics specialises in the transport and trade of sawmill residues, waste wood and biomass. The company’s core piece is a modern truck fleet, which is controlled using state-of-the-art IT and can be combined with rail and ship transports. Rhenus Forest Logistics is certified according to Efb (special disposal company), FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programs for Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes).

The Rhenus Group is a logistics services provider with global business operations and annual turnover of EUR 4.8 billion. Rhenus has business sites at over 580 locations worldwide and employs more than 28,000 people. The Rhenus business areas – Contract Logistics, Freight Logistics, Port Logistics and Public Transport – manage complex supply chains and provide innovative value-added services.
