Rhenus group launches new brand for high-tech-logistics
Rhenus Midi Data runs pan-European network for distribution of high-tech products
Effective retroactively from 1 July 2011, the Rhenus group takes over the European activities of Wincanton plc., thereby extending the service spectrum. The former high-tech division of Wincanton operates under the name Rhenus Midi Data GmbH. Michael Boos and Thomas Gerling heads the company, a division of Rhenus Contract Logistics. The Rhenus Midi Data joins the technical, distribution and installation services of the former Wincanton division in a separate company.
"By acquiring the European activities of Wincanton, we have upgraded our regional and product-specific set up and expanded existing business. Rhenus Midi Data exemplifies this growth trend. The existing specialist networks enhanced the Rhenus Contract Logistics by another component: the high-tech logistics", explains Dr. Stephan Peters, CEO of Rhenus.
For renowned clients in the banking and IT sector, medical device technology and the printing and copying sector Rhenus Midi Data provides its own network for Europe-wide distribution on schedule (including construction and installation) of high-tech products. Technical value-added services, including pre-installation services complement the range of services. Founded in 1967, Midi Data GmbH is one of the pioneers in this segment.
