Forum Green Logistics – Pacemaker Award for Max Schachinger
The first „Forum Green Logistics – the green route to 2030“ in Vienna formulated various theses for the future of logistics
The Forum on 4 March 2015 in Vienna was the start of the event series „Forum Green Logistics – the green route to 2030“. The forum will be held every year from now until 2030. At its kick-off it offered exciting insights and groundbreaking discussions by and with experts on the following subjects: forms of mobility, drive concepts, requirements, conditions and Open Innovation.
The meeting of experts of logistics, business and science was organised in coperation with the University of Agricultural Sciences, Erste Bank, Marketing Community Austria, Xing:Vienna and UnitCargo SpeditionsgesmbH. Prof. (FH) Dr. Andreas Breinbauer, head of the logistics and transport management study course at the University of Applied Sciences, acted as moderator. Prof. Dr. Gernot Spiegelberg (Vice President, Corporate Technology, Siemens AG), Dipl.-Ing. Günter Steinbauer (Management Wiener Linien), Mag. Alexander Casapiccola (fleet manager Austrian Post) and DI Markus Rieger (Director of HYVE Innovation Community GmbH) talked about the innovations in their respective areas of competence.
Each participant in the discussion had to formulate one or more propositions for the future of logistics. The individual theses of the participants are sealed subsequently every year in an envelope and will be opened in 2030, presented and compared with the status quo of logistics in 2030.
As a surprise at the end of the event, for the first time the Forum Green Logistics – Pacemaker Award was given to Max Schachinger, CEO of Schachinger Loigistik Holding GmbH, for his leadership role on green logistics in Austria. The Pacemaker Award is presented every year from now on until 2030 to a prominent person in the field of green logistics. In 2030, from all the prize winners of the previous years of the life-time Pacemaker will be selected and honoured.
