Rhenus Midgard and OMM develop sea cable warehouse in Nordenham
Rhenus Midgard and sea cable specialist OMM signed a letter of intent to establish a warehouse for the offshore wind industry
Rhenus Midgard and the sea cable specialist Offshore Marine Management (OMM) signed a letter of intent to jointly develop a sea cable warehouse in Nordenham for the offshore wind market. Rhenus shall provide a cable carousel and cage for OMM, which will serve as a buffer store during the construction and as permanent store during the time of operation. The areas needed for services are situated on and in the immediate vicinity of the Rhenus-Midgard location and are available for use with immediate effect. In addition to providing space, Rhenus Midgard brings expertise as a port logistician to the partnership and will operate the warehouse on behalf of OMM. Offshore Marine Management, worldwide active as an independent provider of customised maritime solutions for the sea cable industry, will market the warehousing capacities and combine them with their own offerings. “Our new long term partner Offshore Marine Management is a reputable sea cable specialist. We are pleased about the increasing demand for logistics services from the wind power industry. Together with OMM we are planning to take the next steps of our cooperation“, says Björn Wittek, in charge of the Rhenus Offshore Wind Energy division.
