Rickmers Linie provides direct service between Europe and India

Increased tonnage available on India-Europe route: Rickmers puts four more vessels in service

In response to the increasing demand for break bulk and project cargo hold on the route from Europe to India, Rickmers Linie increases its tonnage with immediate effect. In total four new vessels will operate the India service. Two of them (the newbuildings Rickmers Yokohama and Rickmers Tianjin) are due for delivery from the Xinshun Shipyard Group in China in May and late summer respectively.

Moreover Rickmers-Linie will – in addition to the eastbound service to India – also offer a direct service from India back to Europe. Apart from the base ports Hamburg, Antwerp, Genoa, Mumbai and Chennai, this scheduled service can also call in Pakistan and the Middle East on demand.

Gerhard Janssen, Director Marketing & Sales, Rickmers-Linie, announces in a press release: "Eastbound, we expect to be loading steel products as a base load, topping off with manufactured goods ranging from mobile cranes and mining products through to specialist railway and power generation equipment. Westbound, there are more and more non-containerisable shipments as India’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities develop."

Hamburg-based Rickmers-Linie is by its own account one of the world’s leading specialists in the global transportation of break-bulk, heavylift and project cargo by sea. The company belongs to Rickmers Group, which offers activities in the fields of liner shipping, ship owning and ship management, investments and real estate as well as maritime related services.
