Rijeka is Logwin’s location N° 7 in its network in Croatia

New Logwin branch in Croatia’s harbour city Rijeka is located close to the container terminal Brajdica

The Logwin AG recently added an own office in the Croatian port of Rijeka to its network. There the logistics service provider mainly handles warehousing and customs clearing as well as land transportation and sea freight transports for its customers. With the new branch Logwin now employs more than 100 people in Croatia and operates seven locations in Erdut, Osijek, Rijeka, Sveta Nedelja, Tovarnik, Vukovar and Zagreb.

The branch in Rijeka is located just 500 metres from the Brajdica Container Terminal. At the new location employees plan and implement transport solutions for all important industries in the region, including retail customers, for example. “We’re expecting growth in sea freight shipments starting in July 2013,” says Sasa Baleta, Country Manager Croatia at Logwin. “Croatia’s joining the EU will simplify trade with the other countries of the economic union”, he adds.

Rijeka is the third largest city in Croatia, the second largest economic centre and has the country’s largest commercial port. Rijeka also is an important port for other Eastern European countries like Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia. Capitals such as Belgrade, Bratislava, Budapest, Sarajevo and Vienna are around 500 kilometres away.

Logwin AG headquartered in Grevenmacher (Luxemburg) develops as an external partner integrated logistics and service solutions for trade and industry. In 2001 the group achieved sales of EUR 1.3 billion and has currently about 5,800 employees at about 250 locations on five continents. The product portfolio covers the business sectors Solutions (customer-oriented contract logistics solutions) and Air + Ocean (global air and ocean freight activities).
