Royal Mail partners with Ford for more sustainable deliveries

Ford’s software enabled Royal Mail to use fewer vans for delivery in the trial area, and during the trial, Royal Mail decreased its van use by 50%, and reduced its daily delivery mileage by 33%.

Ford’s software enabled postmen to make deliveries with a singular vehicle supporting them. It identified safe, convenient locations for the handover of parcels to postmen and postwomen who then made deliveries to a mix of high-rise, business, and residential buildings.
