SDV Dallas Recognized as a ‘Storm Trooper’ By Spirit AeroSystems

On April 14th, 2012, Wichita, Kansas was struck by a devastating tornado. Spirit AeroSystems, one of the world’s largest non-OEM designers and manufacturers of aerostructures for commercial aircraft, suspended their operations.

With the help of local community leaders and key business partners, notably New York-based global 3PL SDV, Spirit was able to quickly reach full production on April 23rd. SDV was able to provide warehousing space and needed manpower so that Spirit could receive critical shipments from Korea, Malaysia and Vietnam.

SDV and Spirit have been business partners since 2010. During this time, SDV’s proactive approach and open dialogue with Spirit has been a key factor in fostering this key partnership.
“SDV Dallas and our Aerospace professionals embodied the statement we make to all our business partners, that we are a customer-centric organization that will provide you with the industry knowledge and resources to keep your operations fluid,” stated Laurent Chantegros, US Aerospace Product Manager.

Spirit presented SDV with the below pictured award and a certificate (not pictured). The certificate read: “Thank you for providing warehouse storage space and manpower to manage the inventory for us during the tornado recovery. You are a true partner of Spirit!”
