Sea Star Line launches Guardian Service
Using advanced GPS and wireless technologies, Sea Star Line’s Guardian Service offers 24/7 reefer monitoring, tracking, tracing and control. Sea Star Line has entered into a strategic alliance with Mark-It Services in order to equip its reefers with both GPS and RFID systems. The new technology gives Sea Star wireless monitoring capacities on 100% of its refrigerated container fleet, marine terminals, and vessels. The advanced wireless devices mounted on every reefer continually reports the status of all temperatures and other onboard conditions back to a web-based software platform, which gives Sea Star total and continual visibility and control from origin to destination. Data includes real-time GPS location, reefer running/stopped events, set/supply/return temperatures and USDA probe temperatures. Any reefer alarms that occur are pushed immediately to operator screens and sent via email and SMS to enable corrective actions to be taken.
