Orbit Developments’ divisional director for Merseyside, Dennis Dwyer and Peter Gummerson, managing director at UKI Express Transport.

The company carry over 1,500 separate consignments per day through the UK via road, air and ocean, so location was key when searching for a new distribution centre.

Managing Director, Peter Gummerson at UKI Express Transport said: “This move was imperative for our continued growth and to support our large portfolio of clients who currently ship in excess of 190,000 tonnes per year in to and around the United Kingdom.”

Orbit Developments’ Divisional Director for Merseyside, Dennis Dwyer said: “This is a significant letting for the site and demonstrates that the commercial market for units of this size is alive and kicking. Skelmersdale has an enviable location for logistics operators with its location being so close to the M6 and the National Motorway Network.

“We are continuing to market the site with a further 370,000 sq ft of refurbished distribution warehouse accommodation on the site with the first phase of circa 185,000 sq ft. being ready for end users to let at the end of October 2016.”

Joint letting agents are CBRE and Knight Frank.
