Smurfit Kappa awards three-year logistics contract to CM Downton

CM Downton, part of EV Cargo, has won a three-year logistics contract with Smurfit Kappa, transporting packaging products from two manufacturing sites in the south-west.

Downton said the contract has ‘excellent synergies’ with its current contracts in the region and would help enhance efficiency and further reduce empty mileage.

CM Downton MD Zac Brown said: “Aligned with EV Cargo, the Downton strategy is focused on growth and delivering supply chain solutions powered by innovation and technology. The addition of this major new contract with Smurfit Kappa has marked our intentions for the year. Leveraging the combined expertise of EV Cargo enables Downton to compete for and secure significant new business.”
