Tesco plans ‘new format’ stores
Tesco has started advertising for staff for a number of “new format” stores, leading to speculation that is planning to go head to head with discounters Aldi and Lidl.
The advertisement makes it clear that the he new retail format “will be operated separately from the core Tesco business and as such benefits offered will be different from those offered at Tesco”.
Store managers advertisement s include: Chatteris in Cambridgeshire, St Helens in Lancashire, Clapham in London, and Immingham in Lincolnshire.
