TFG Transfracht as of now fully integrated to Deutsche Bahn

Third manager Ralf-Günter Kloß for TFG Transfracht and start of process optimisations

As of 1 July 2012 the transfer of all shares of TFG Transfracht to Deutsche Bahn is legally effective. The operations of Europe’s biggest enterprise in seaport hinterland traffic are now managed by DB Schenker Rail. So far 50 per cent of the shares were held by Hamburger Hafen- und Logistikgesellschaft (HHLA). HHLA disposed of its shares of TFG Transfracht and took over the minority holding of DB in Metrans and Polzug in turn. The takeover of TFG Transfracht by Deutsche Bahn was approved by the antitrust authorities on 15 June.

The streamlining of the shareholder circle of TFG Transfracht is accompanied by a restructuring of the company management. The new function Operations is to be added to the existing segments Finances/Controlling and Marketing/Sales. Ralf-Günter Kloß will hold the new function. Kloß is Managing Director of DB Intermodal Services GmbH; he will hold both positions in personal union. Axel Marschall, Chairman Sales DB Schenker Rail: “Through the management of the company and the new management board we will improve the processes of TFG and interlock them with DB Schenker Rail’s network.“

TFG Transfracht based in Frankfurt am Main is Europe’s market leader in containerised seaport hinterland transport from the ports of Hamburg and Bremen to locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Their customers are international shipping companies and forwarders. The company’s AlbatrosExpress network is Europe’s strongest rail network in this segment. Via 20 terminals about 11,000 services are handled per year. In 2011 they generated turnover of almost EUR 250 million.
