The KaDeWe Group makes Meyer & Meyer its logistics partner

Premium retailer meets premium service provider – specialist for fashion logistics Meyer & Meyer assumes comprehensive services for The KaDeWe Group

Meyer & Meyer, a fashion logistics specialist headquartered in Osnabrück, will supply The KaDeWe Group’s three tradition-steeped luxury retail houses with goods. The KaDeWe Group includes the renowned department stores KaDeWe (Berlin), Oberpollinger (Munich) and the Alsterhaus (Hamburg). Meyer & Meyer assumed transport and logistics of high-value fashion and lifestyle products effective 1 September 2014, and also regularly supplies the three stores with several other goods such as household appliances and electronic goods.

In addition to the procurement transport from Germany and other European countries, Meyer & Meyer takes over a comprehensive range of warehousing services to the company’s site in Peine. These include classic storage as well as labelling items with price and security tags. From Peine, they distribute the goods to KaDeWe, Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus. Meyer & Meyer ensures also store returns. The annual volume of goods amounts to 5.3 million pieces.

„We are convinced that Meyer & Meyer will ensure reliable and smooth supply of our premium stores. Their many years of fashion expertise and also the IT know-how of the logistics company convinced us to form this cooperation. As a multi-user site, the Peine logistics center offers a favorable cost structure and the flexibility necessary in merchandise handling,“ said Philip Schreiber, Head of Supply Chain Management The KaDeWe Group.

Another advantage is the customer structure of the Osnabrück logistics company. „Many manufacturers whose brands are sold in the homes of The KaDeWe Group, are already our customers. Meyer & Meyer provides a platform that highlights the synergies between trade and industry for the benefit of both partners. This results in advantages as particularly fast goods handling and the avoidance of media breaks in information logistics but also in sustainability issues,“ explains Uwe Schildheuer, CEO of Meyer & Meyer Warehousing Services GmbH.
