The Wensleydale Creamery extends Culina’s contract

Culina Logistics has strengthened its expanding dairy portfolio after retaining the business of The Wensleydale Creamery.

The contract extension will see Culina Logistics continue to provide national distribution and warehousing for The Wensleydale Creamery’s wide range of cheese products.

Culina will also provide a contract packaging service for special projects within The Wensleydale Creamery’s supply chain through its specialist packaging solutions arm, Culina IPS.

According to Andy Newnes, national account manager at Culina Logistics, the cheese sector continues to be big business in the UK, with sales showing an increase to more than 400,000 tonnes this year.

Culina will continue to collect packed cheese from The Wensleydale Creamery’s site in Hawes in Yorkshire. The goods will then be warehoused at Culina’s depot in Stafford, with picked orders subsequently being delivered to major food retailers, food processors and food service organisations across the UK.
