TNWA lines launch direct service from Vietnam to Northern Europe

Port of Cai Mep in South Vietnam to be integrated into the intercontinental schedule of TNWA (The New World Alliance) 

 

Integrating Cai Mep into the schedule of the JEX service, the TNWA alliance, formed by the container shipping companies Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (Japan), APL (Singapore) and Hyundai Merchant Marine (South Korea) responds to the growing importance of Vietnam for the world economy. The South Vietnamese port can handle vessels with a maximum draught of 14 metres and 10,000 TEU capacity, as the three shipping lines announce in a joint press release.

Cai Mep will be served starting from 15 January 2011. The point of departure of the JEX service is Kobe in Japan. The routing will be as follows: Kobe, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Cai Mep, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Le Havre, Tanger, Jeddah, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Kobe. Transit from Cai Mep to Rotterdam takes 21 days.
