trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria: Franz Scherübl sells his shares

trans-o-flex group will have the sole say in trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria effective 1 January 2013
 
The trans-o-flex logistics group is to take over the remaining shares in its Austrian subsidiary trans-o-flex ThermoMed Austria with effect from 1 January 2013. So far the group owned 74.9 per cent of the shares in the company, which specialises in the actively temperature controlled transportation of pharmaceutical products. Company founder Franz Scherübl Snr. has decided to sell his remaining shares, thus retiring from his position as Managing Director on 19 November and officially leaving the company on 31 December 2012.
 
For the trans-o-flex group, this acquisition is another step in the expansion of its international network for the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. In addition to Austria, trans-o-flex also offers its service of actively temperature-controlled transportation, during which the strict provisions on the distribution of pharmaceutical products are observed without having to use the expensive cool-boxes, in Germany, the Benelux countries, Denmark and France. All in all, the trans-o-flex Logistics Group realises almost half of its turnover with logistic services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
 
The Europe-wide operating trans-o-flex logistics group offers solutions for express delivery of parcels and pallets (combined freight) and a special network for active temperature control, completed by additional logistics services from storage and picking/packing to value-added services, such as the set-up service for sales displays or electrical appliances. In 2011, annual sales of the group based in Weinheim (Germany), which has a workforce of approximately 1,600 employees, amounted to about EUR 550 million. Since June 2008, trans-o-flex has been a 100-% subsidiary of Österreichische Post.
