Turkish Cargo expands air freight service to Budapest

Cargo carrier subsidiary of Turkish Airlines doubles the number of allfreighter flights between Budapest and Istanbul

Turkish Cargo, a company of the Turkish Airlines, reinforces its commitment to Hungary’s market. Effective with the beginning of this month the airline has raised the number of its weekly flights to Budapest Airport to two. Besides to Saturday morning the freighter edition of Airbus A310 will be a regular guest in Hungary’s capital also on Thursday afternoons.

Levend Arisoy, general manager of Turkish Cargo in Hungary sees significant growth potential in the local market. Depending on the conditions, the airline plans further expansion of capacity and frequency. Their aim for 2015 is to operate a daily cargo flight between Istanbul and Budapest, replacing the Airbus A310 to a A330F. This would mean a capacity growing from up to 38 tons to 67 tons per flight.

Turkish Cargo delivers mainly textile goods and electronics from the Far East to Budapest and it exports from Hungary pharmaceuticals, engineering products and electronic appliances manufactured in Hungary.
