UPS takes over B2C company Kiala

Belgian shipping company Kiala enhanced service portfolio of UPS

In a short press release the globally acting logistics company UPS announced the acquisition of Kiala, based in Brussels (Belgium). Kiala offers delivery options for consumers who buy goods via the internet, but can not receive the shipment during the day. Further details about the acquisition are not known to date.

Kiala was founded in 2001 and is currently operating in the five countries Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Spain. The company has developed an internet platform that allows online merchants to offer their customers the option to get delivered their previously ordered goods to a convenient pickup point for them. More than 300 customers make use of this service (eg: Daxon, Esprit, H & M, Bell, Neckermann, Nespresso, SFR, Yves Rocher). Kiala handles up to 145,000 parcels daily for them.

This new acquisition expands the range of solutions for the package and freight transport by UPS in shipping from dealers to private customers (B2C). The logistics company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, serves more than 220 countries and territories
