Urgent need for dredging on Bulgaria’s Danube section
The Austrian transport industry requires urgently dredging on several sections of the Danube in Bulgaria. During the hydrographic measuring of the Danube in the context of the EU project FAIRway Danube, it was found that urgent action is needed on several sections of the Danube in Bulgaria to maintain navigability in the upcoming low-water period.
The representatives of the Austrian transport companies are asking decision-makers at the national and European level to support the Bulgarian Minister of Transport, in order to exploit the options of appropriate excavation work on the Danube.
