Waberer’s: Strong growth in Germany, UK, France and Italy

In 2014, Waberer’s International revenues will surpass the EUR 500 million mark; the company will continue to explore acquisition opportunities

Waberer’s International Pte. Co.’s efficiency and growth dynamics continue to accelerate – the company’s board of directors declared at the review of the 2013 results  The revenues of one of Europe’s largest road freight companies’ in 2013 surpassed EUR 452 million, which is 20 per cent more than in 2012. During the year, 400 new customers contracted with Europe’s FTL specialist, whose orders – including spot business – reached 1.2 million per anno.

The company achieved this record performance by significantly improving its most important efficiency factors: the number of employees grew only by ten percent, the trucks’ loaded ratio reached 91 per cent at certain times and fuel consumption was significantly reduced. As a result EBITDA reached EUR 64 million. The company usually reinvests the profits to support its growth and further improve the quality of its services. The company further strengthened its capital structure: its equity capital increased by 20% in 2013, its debt/equity ratio improved by 7% while its net debt/EBITDA ratio decreased.

In 2013, the company traditionally focused on the long haul transport of pallet-based goods and increased its presence on the European freight market of non-perishable goods and household-chemicals. On the company’s most important markets, Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy revenues showed a two-digit increase. The highest increase was achieved in consignments to and from Italy.

In 2013, Waberer’s International Pte.Co. invested almost EUR 100 million in order to best cater to the growing demands towards its services. It renewed and expanded its fleet with the procurement of more than a 1,000 of tractors and 750 trailers. The company is currently executing a comprehensive IT development program, which entails the upgrade of its telematics and corporate management systems. Its more than 3,000 truck have completed triple the earth-sun distance in the past year on the roads of Europe loaded with the goods of its clients.

The budget for 2014 forecasts a continued two-digit growth both in terms of revenues and EBITDA. According to the budget Waberer’s revenues will surpass the EUR 500 million mark this year, while the fleet size will reach close on 3,400. In order to achieve this goal Waberer’s will further strengthen its presence in Europe’s most important market centers by establishing local subsidiaries in France, in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy, while Waberer’s Deutschland and Waberer’s Polska will increase the number of its employees, hiring local experts.

On the international transportation market, the company positions itself offering larger logistic cost reduction to its clients’ compared to its competitors. In addition to fully supporting organic growth, Waberer’s will continue to explore acquisition opportunities.
