Weiss-Rohlig enters into Thai market

 
Air-/seafreight specialist Weiss-Rohlig opens first office in Bangkok

The two freight forwarding companies Gebrüder Weiss (Lauterach) and Röhlig & Co. (Bremen) are expanding their joint global air- and seafreight activities under the brand name Weiss-Rohlig to a new country. A new location in Thailand will start operating. Gebrüder Weiss and Röhlig & Co. are each holding 35 percent of the shares of the new enterprise called Weiss Rohlig Thailand. The other 30 percent of the shares are held by a local partner (East-West Logistics Co. Ltd.). Weiss-Rohlig Thailand is to start with 13 employees. The service portfolio ranges from air/sea freight forwarding including supplementing logistics services to projects.

Weiss-Rohlig has currently 40 own locations in 10 countries. The last weeks were dedicated to the opening of offices in Japan and India. The company entered into the Indian market by acquiring 50 per cent of the freight forwarding company Tricon Shhipping in Chennai. The company has about 150 employees at 16 locations and achieved a turnover of around EUR 7 million last year.
