XPO Logistics wins omnichannel contract with beauty giant Shiseido

XPO Logistics has won a contract with Japanese beauty and personal care company Shiseido to provide omnichannel logistics.

The contract will see XPO carry out the business-to-business replenishment of brands such as bareMinerals, NARS, Laura Mercier, SHISEIDO, Serge Lutens, Dolce&Gabbana Beauty, Narciso Rodriguez, Issey Miyake, Elie Saab and Clé de Peau Beauté as well as UK and Ireland e-commerce fulfillment of orders for the NARS, Shiseido and bareMinerals brands.

Operations will take place at an 80,000 sq ft DC in Derby with plans to expand to 100,000 sq ft over the course of the partnership.

The site is equipped with sensor-controlled LED lighting and uses separate recycling streams for plastic, cardboard, office paper and beverage containers.

Other capabilities include rainwater harvesting, solar panels for hot water, an electric vehicle charging point and bee hives that help maintain the surrounding ecosystem.
