ZV Spedition & Logistik formuliates measures for competitive logistics

ZV Spedition & Logistik (Vienna) sees promotion of Austria as logistics location based on the model of Germany as a clear mission of the future government

On December 2, the Austrian forwarding and logistics association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik (Vienna) issued a list of demands for measures to promote the transport and logistics industry in Austria. Based on the publication of the program of Germany’s new government, counting on a marketing campaign called “Logistics made in Germany“ with the objective of strengthening the position of enterprises in the international competition, the independent association demands similar action for the logistics industry in Austria.

The whish list to the future government features stronger consideration of the logistics industry in terms of infrastructure planning, expansion of multimodality e.g. through cargo terminals, debureaucratisation and simplification of administration procedures (chiefly in traffic, vehicle and customs legislation), a nationwide solution for the issue of driving bans, as well as the promotion of innovation e.g. in the fields of aerodynamics and alternative driving technologies.

„Sustainable integration of the freight forwarding industry into transport and infrastructure planning is essential for creating and safeguarding of jobs,“ says Wolfram Senger-Weiss, president of the ZV Spedition & Logistik. “If we want to have a successful and competitive forwarding industry in Austria, an appropriate positioning, combined with concrete action on the part of policy is indispensable,“ adds Oliver Wagner, managing director of the ZV Spedition & Logistik.
