International transport logistics group cargo-partner opens office specialising on sea freight at the location in Tianjin

The network of the globally operating Austrian transport logistics group cargo-partner in China is being enlarged by another branch. These days an office specialising in sea freight in Tianjin starts operating. "The station is about 170 kilometres from China’s capital Beijing", says CEO Mag. Stefan Krauter.

Tianjin is cargo-partner’s 12th location in the People’s Republic China. "The new office closes the last big gap in our network of own offices in China. Its vicinity to the airport of Beijing, where we registered a very positive development in 2010, made this a logical next step. The more and more dense network in Asian ports makes traffic within Asia and between Asia and America more and more important for our enterprise", says Stefan Krauter.

In the sea freight segment the port of Tianjin Xingang is one of the most significant hubs in China. It is the largest artificially created sea and river port of the country, and the most approached port for break-bulk, containers and heavy machinery. In 2010 they handled 413 million tons of goods. The international Tianjin Binhai Airport in the district Dongli is one of the biggest air freight centres in the People’s Republic China. Every year 200,000 tons of goods pass the airport, which has become China’s first e-freight airport in 2010.
