Itella Logistics activates the “cost brake“

Reorganisation of Itella Logistics’ activities in Denmark and Sweden makes about 70 employees superfluous

Itella Logistics starts a program to reorganise the structure of its national companies in Sweden and Denmark. Joining forces and plans to increase synergies shall cut costs and streamline operating processes.

This leads to a reduction of approximately 70 permanent employees, the enterprise announces in a press release. Only by taking the planned actions Itella Logistics can remain competitive regarding the current conditions in the Scandinavian transport and logistics service market, states Managing Director Jørn Johansen.

Itella Logistics employs 7,100 persons and has over 30 offices in eight countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia). Their 2011 balance showed EUR 732 million in turnover. The enterprise based in Helsinki provides service solutions for road transport (groupage cargo, part and full loads), sea and air freight, warehousing and contract logistics.
