Polzug serving Polish seaports

Container operator Polzug Intermodal links the seaports Gdansk and Gdynia tighter to Poland’s hinterland

The container operator Polzug Intermodal enhances its offer. Running three weekly rotations the company links the Polish seaports Gdansk and Gdynia tighter to the hinterland. The container block trains of the HHLA subsidiary call the hub terminal in Posen, where all border-crossing and Polish national transportations are joined. Moreover containers and project loads are transported to destinations in the CIS, in the Caucasus region and in Central Asia.

“Via our centrally located hub, we can reach every destination in Poland, and also the ports of the North Range. With our new product, we are offering our customers an additional opportunity for optimal utilization of our entire terminal network in Poland,” says Peter Plewa, Managing Director of Polzug. “Even for domestic Polish traffic, therefore, we are not shunning competition with trucking. On price and transport transit times, we offer a genuine alternative, but we are especially attractive where the ecological aspects of container transport are concerned.” To guarantee flexibility and punctuality, traction for the container trains has been assigned to a private rail operator.
