60% Reduction in Number of Customers Planning to Increase 3PL Use in North America

3PLs, 4PLs and customer companies who use their solutions have given their input into 3PL selection and contracting trends in a survey focused on the North American market.

Created from the responses of 3PL, 4PLs and users, eyefortransport’s 3PL Selection and Contract Renewal Report offers a unique snapshot of where 3PL contracting trends stand, and how they have changed since 2009, specific to the North American market.

Key findings include:

• 81% of responding customers are negotiating their next 3PL contract either this year or next

• Fewer customers reporting initial contracts over 3 years in length compared to 2009

• A 60% reduction in the number of customers who plan to increase the number of 3PLs they use

•Sending out RFPs to niche and specialist providers has increased in importance for customers since 2009

•An increased number of North American 3PLs are using third parties to find out about new RFPs

The new report features 17 pages of relevant and timely information on the state of the 3PL contracts renewal process, with 38 easy-to-digest charts with information you won’t find anywhere else, including comparisons between North America vs. Worldwide and 2012 vs. 2009 trends.
