KESS shipping line wants one more berth in Cuxhaven

“K“ Line European Sea Highway Services GmbH wants to call Cuxhaven using bigger vessels in future:

In response to growing transport volume on the liner service from Cuxhaven to Halmstadt and Södertälje, Sweden, the shipping company "K" Line European Sea Highway Services GmbH (KESS) wants to serve this route in future with bigger vessels. However, the 1,600 slot car carriers necessitate new infrastructure in the Lower Saxonian port, as General Manager Thorsten Wendt explains. “Vessels of that size are currently face difficult nautical circumstances in Cuxhaven“, he adds.

"K" Line European Sea Highway Services GmbH (KESS) has made positive experiences in the past years with Cuxhaven. The construction of one more berth is essential for the company, regarding less administrative effort to handle big vessels. This is the only chance Cuxhaven can be kept on the schedules on the medium term. “We are confident feasible solutions can be found. Negotiations are proceeding well", says Thorsten Wendt about the current situation.
