A new milestone with Luka Koper
In 2008 the goods throughput at the Slovenian seaport of Koper surpassed all expectations. With a volume totalling to 16 million tons the amount targeted by the Management was exceeded by 5 percent. Container traffic amounted to 353,000 TEU and therefore exceeded the target of 320,000 TEU by 33,000 TEU. The traffics with destination and departure points in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia contributed a great deal to this result. The Port of Koper has also great expectations for goods traffic from and to central, eastern and south-eastern Europe for 2009.
