ACG Air Cargo Germany exceeds all expectations in 2010

Loads on the ACG Air Cargo Germany planes are slowly balancing out

For the private German airline ACG Air Cargo Germany (Hahn Airport) the year 2010 is characterised by a very positive business trend. The company will probably transport more cargo than expected. "In our business plan we assumed that we would transport 90.000 tons which was quite ambitious already. At the moment though we expect to move around 95.000 tons until the end of the year", general manager Thomas Homering says.

The continuous expansion of the fleet is an important factor in this success. In the second half of June the third large-scale freighter Boeing 747 started operation. In mid September the fourth B747 freighter joined the fleet. "This means that shippers and forwarders now have access to a cargo capacity of 440 tons", CEO Michaela Bock points out. According to him, the present load factor of the planes is at more than 70 per cent.

The management of ACG Air Cargo  Germany is pleased with the slowly leveling loads on the trips between Europe and the Far East. The times of mono-directional transports in which cargo planes on the routes from East Asia to Central and Western Europe used to be loaded to capacity, but only small amounts of cargo were flown back to the Far East, are coming to an end. With ACG this relation is about 60 to 40. About 60 per cent of the total volumes are transported on the routes from East to West and 40 per cent from Europe to Shanghai and Hong Kong.
