Air Partner launches scheduled cargo service from Frankfurt to Sochi

Starting on 18 November ‚Sochi Express‘ operated by Air Partner offers weekly service from Frankfurt to Southern Russia with a Boeing 747-400 F
 
Air Partner, one of the biggest providers worldwide for professional air charter solutions in the passenger-, private jet- and cargo business, launches a weekly cargo operation from Frankfurt to Sochi due to the XXII Olympic winter games (7 to 23 February 2014). Between 18 November 2013 and 7 February 2014 a Boeing 747-400 F will leave Frankfurt/Main for a direct connection to Sochi on the Russian Black Sea coast each Monday.
 
"The new cargo charter connection called ‚Sochi-Express‘ presently is the only non-stop connection that is planned between Germany and Sochi. Air Partner offers  fast and safe transport to the forwarders which need to organise the transportation of materials, equipment and specialised goods for organisations, sponsors and promoters of the Olympic games; this can be done as full or part charter", says Mike Hill, Regional Freight Manager for the Air Partner Group with headquarters in Bergisch Gladbach. 
 
"Due to its geographical location Sochi does not offer very favourable traffic connections. This means that there are also only limited capacities for cargo. At the moment many airfreight transports are taken to Moscow and then forwarded to Sochi by truck. An arduous and long trip which can be avoided with our direct flight", Hill says. Air Partner expects a huge demand for this service, especially during the preparation period for the Olympic games. Regarding the cargo rates Hill says: "They are more than competitive when compared with the more time-consuming transport via Moscow". 
 
All cargo goods are taken on at the cargo terminal Cargo City Süd at the airport Frankfurt/Main. In addition Air Partner also offers door-to-door and door-to-airport services and in Sochi also airport-to-door services.
