ANA selects Frankfurt as the first “Dreamliner“ long-haul destination

ANA to serve the route from Frankfurt to Tokyo-Haneda three times weekly with the brand new Boeing 787 from January 2012:

Japan’s biggest airline ANA selected Germany as its first long-haul destination for the brand new Boeing 787 (“Dreamliner“). From January the aircraft will be operated on the new route connecting Frankfurt and Tokyo-Haneda, the airport close to the Japanese capital.

The “Dreamliner“ will initially call Frankfurt on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. As of February the route shall be operated daily. ANA is currently flying once per day from Frankfurt and Munich to Tokyo-Narita, using a Boeing 777. Moreover the airline operates daily flights from London and Paris.

ANA is to receive the first of 55 new aircraft by the end of September. From December, the airline will start operating its first international flight connection Tokyo – Beijing, through regular flights using a 787. From 1 November an aircraft of this type will be used on the domestic routes Tokyo-Haneda – Okayama and Tokyo-Haneda – Hiroshima.
