Schmidt-Gruppe and Agility are closing ranks

German bulk goods logistician Schmidt-Gruppe and Agility planning to form longterm partnership for extra-European projects:

In Dubai, at the first LogiChem conference in the Middle East, Agility Logistics and Schmidt-Gruppe signed a letter of intent to form a longterm partnership for projects outside Europe. The two companies have been cooperating since 2008. Their last major project, the logistics facility in Shanghai, was inaugurated last year.

Having signed the contract Neil Moon, Global Strategic Projects Director of Agility, competent for the chemical logistics division, said: “Forming this strategic partnership and joining highly specialised resources, we will be able to even better serve the chemical industry. We are looking forward to a successful and tight cooperation with Schmidt-Gruppe.”

„This tighter partnership comes at the right time. Demand for technically developed services in the chemicals sector is growing“, explains Dr. Wolfgang Hoppmann, technical direktor at Schmidt. “Our partnership with Agility positions us also in developing countries as a leading service provider for bulk cargo."

Transport services with silo trucks and silo containers form the main business activity of Schmidt-Gruppe. Every year they control more than 4.6 million tons of transport goods from a super-regional disposition at the company headquarters in Heilbronn as well as from eight regional disposition stations. In Austria they have been operating a location in Greater Vienna since 1981.
