APM optimises its intra-Europe business with Seago Line

New intra European carrier of A.P. Moller – Maersk Group takes over shortsea services from the shipping companies Maersk Line and Safmarine

Fast processing and documentation will be available to the customers of the Seago Line based in Copenhagen, Denmark, which will start operating in July 2011. The company is a 100% subsidiary of A.P. Moller – Maersk, APM in short. Jakob Bornholt will head the enterprise as CEO.

Seago Line, a specialist for shortsea and feeder services, is to take over the intra-European business from Maersk Line and Safmarine in the middle of this year. The company starts with a staff of 270. Its operating range covers the north continent to the Mediterranean region including North Africa. They carry exclusively ISO containers. The service range includes in addition to scheduled services offices and branches in 25 countries.
