APM Terminals has ambitious targets

APM Terminal heads for quality leadership in the container terminals-market segment

APM Terminals, the port logistics subsidiary of the A.P. Moller Maersk Group, is about to tackle another ambitious project. With a mixture of strict cost discipline, competitive prices and active customer care the enterprise wants to take over quality leadership as an operator of container terminals in the coming five years. Moreover they will invest into the construction of new terminals. The main focus in this field lies on completing the network surrounding the locations in the growth areas India, Africa and South Africa as CEO Kim Fejfer announces in a press release.

APM Terminals is operating 50 container terminals in 34 countries, including facilities in Bremerhaven, Gioia Tauro, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge. Their 18,000 employees have generated a turnover of USD 3 billion in the business year 2008.
