AsstrA Gruppe reinforces presence in Germany

New office of the AsstrA group in Düsseldorf offers full package for forwarding services to Russia and CIS transport concepts

Opening a new office in North Rhine-Westphalia the AsstrA Associated Traffic AG strengthened its service for its business partners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The office in Düsseldorf started operating on 1 March 2012. "Customers from the Germany, Switzerland and Austria can now even easier use our services for the target regions in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan," they say in a press release.

In this paper the company explains a newly introduced new package that offers users a high degree of legal certainty. In addition to the existing core functions like freight management, customs services, warehousing and distribution, it includes the organisation of the trade chain, including import of goods into the Russian Federation. Consignors sell their goods to AsstrA and invoice in euros. In the target area, the payment is made in local currency. "Customers can use it to reduce the currency risk and are constantly in a legally safe area," said Thomas Loose, director of the Düsseldorf office of AsstrA Logistics AG.

AsstrA Associated Traffic AG was founded in 1993 in Zurich and now operates as a holding company with four operating subsidiaries. AsstrA Forwarding AG takes over all transportation and freight forwarding services, customs services and cargo insurance. AsstrA Logistics AG develops and manages complete logistics projects exportation/importation and storage services. AsstrA Transport AG covers all service functions for the transport of goods with their own vehicles. The EBS Partners AG is preparing introduction, development and technical support for the Oracle software in the field of logistics. The group employs around 800 staff at locations in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and China.
