Austria is still a key market of the port of Koper
| Top-level management of the port of Koper confirms partnership with Austrian economy Austrian trade and industrial enterprises as well as their transport logistics partner are still important partners of the port of Koper. This was pointed out by the leading representatives of the Slovenian seaport at an event at the beginning of the week in Vienna. More than 200 guests participated at the event. The Austrian transit at the port of Koper amounted to 3.5 million tons in 2009 (2008: 4.2 million tons). As for container transport Gregor Veselko, President of the Management Board of Luka Koper d.d., expects a throughput of around 38,000 TEU. Automotive throughput showed a clear decline to around 20,000 units. Total goods throughput at the port of Koper clearly declined in 2009 – like in most European seaports.
