DPD equips 12,000 parcel suppliers with Honeywell mobile computers

Parcel service provider DPD acquires new Honeywell mobile computers to ensure faster and more precise delivery in Austria and five more countries

The international parcel service provider DPD is taking a further step to improve service quality. The company will use the Dolphin 99EX Honeywell mobile computer, which shall make parcel delivery faster and more precise. In total 12,000 drivers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg will be equipped with this new system, allowing scanning, reading or exchanging data everywhere.

The service provider, delivering about 2.5 million parcels daily, is also using Honeywell’s Remote MasterMind software for device administration, enabling depot managers and administrators to control software updates and function checks for all devices via a central dashboard.

“We had clear guidelines for this comprehensive and important investment into new technology: a user-friendly mobile computer with smooth scanning software, integrated into a wholistic solution, also able to cope with future increases of transaction figures“, says Peter Störring, Director Operations, DPD GeoPost (Germany). Moreover we are in need of software to manage our devices. Honeywell’s technology suited our requirements best.“
