Austrian becomes new Global Head of Seafreight at Hellmann

Hellmann Worldwide Logistics recruited Gerald Mayrhofer (42) as the new Global Head of Seafreight. As of January 15, 2019, he will be responsible for the entire ocean freight sector worldwide and will report directly to Bart de Vries, Air & Sea’s Chief Operating Officer. The seafreight segment contributed around one quarter of total sales of the Hellmann Group in 2017 and recorded profitable global growth last year as well.

Gerald Mayrhofer has more than 20 years of professional experience in the international transport business. After working for DB Schenker for a decade in various management positions, he moved to Red Bull. As Head of International Logistics, the Austrian was responsible for the restructuring of global transport processes, the implementation of new ocean freight strategies and the establishment of new international logistics hubs.

For the past seven years, Gerald Mayrhofer has been the Managing Director of Senator International Spedition GmbH in Hamburg, where he was responsible for global ocean freight, contract logistics, marketing, quality and human resources development.
