Austrian Forwarders push sustainable mobility

Austrian forwarding and logistics association ZV presented package of measures to reduce CO2-emission in transport

The Austrian forwarding and logistics association Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik presented a package of measures for environmentally friendly transport logistics in the middle of this week. Thereby the "sustainable mobility" team wants to implement their claim on carbon dioxide free mobility concepts. According to them there are several different ways that allow reducing fuel costs in road transport by up to 40 per cent, and CO2-emission of up to 75 per cent.

However this requires the cooperation of politics and industry, as well as the use of Zero Emission Vehicles, which are particularly suitable for city distribution traffic, where a daily reach of 100 – 150 kilometres is seldom exceeded, and the vehicles’ batteries can be charged overnight. Moreover the Zentralverband suggested a reward for changing to electronic trucks.
