Austrian Post launches “quick parcel“ to the US
Alternative to EMS consignments for parcel transport by Austrian Post to the United States
The US American transport security association TSA has decided to prolong the restrictions for parcel transport to the United States until 10 March. Consignments over 499 grams still require special handling. The Austrian Post AG reckons with longer lasting restrictions and adjusts its parcel products to reduce effects for customers as far as possible. With immediate effect the Post offers its customers as an alternative option to dispatch via EMS (Express Mail Service), to send their consignments weighing more than 499 grams as „quick parcel“ to the US. This transport is carried out by air freight via Frankfurt and is cheaper than EMS. Dispatch of a five kilogram-parcel to the US in a “quick parcel“ costs EUR 42.50, dispatch by EMS costs EUR 100.91 (incl. 20% VAT). The same is possible as standard parcel (EUR 27.50 for a five kilogram-parcel). This option goes by overland and on the seaway to the US. Quelle: LogEastics |
