Tyrolean traditional company Berger Logistik celebrates ist 50-years-jubilee and is steering a course of internationalisation

At Berger Logistik the past years were in the sign of expanding the operating and service range, combined with measures to increase efficiency and improve IT structures. The company based in Radfeld in Tyrol celebrates its 50-years-jubilee in 2011. Managing director Dr. David Gulda is heading a team of 200 staff, who have generated a turnover at about EUR 75 million last year.

Berger Logistik operates 100 tractor units and 160 trailers – completed by vehicles of sub freighters – and offers European-wide transportations on the road. The company uses railway logistics for long distances. Three years ago, they developed a new business segment: containerised sea freight traffic (import/export). David Gulda sees good growth opportunities in this activity.

Berger Logistik and its sister companies Berger Truck Service and Berger Kraftfahrzeugtechnik form a corporate group with 300 employees and an annual turnover of EUR 100 million. Berger Truck Service will open one of Europe’s biggest repair centres for utilisation vehicles on 17 June in Wörgl, Tyrol.
